Adil Jaffry
(Chairman & CEO Tara Energy)

Adil is the Chairman & CEO of Tara Energy, a company he co-founded in 2002 and which is now the largest independent electricity provider in the state of Texas. Under Mr. Jafry’s leadership, Tara has rapidly expanded its commercial footprint to serve entities like the Department of Defense, and various City and County Governments, and is actively developing power plants in US and Asia. Prior to founding Tara, Mr. Jafry worked in the Global Investments Group at Enron, where he executed M&A transactions worth over $4.5 billion.


Mr. Jafry has also worked as the Vice President of Corporate Development at FoodTrader, a business-to-business electronic exchange focused on streamlining the fragmented global food industry. FoodTrader was named a top-50 internet company by the Forbes magazine in 2000, and was profiled on "Best of the Web" in 2001. Previous to this, Mr. Jafry worked at iVita Corp. in Business Development, and for Bear, Stearns Jahangir Siddiqui as a Financial Analyst, where he provided corporate finance advisory services to energy companies in Pakistan, and equity funds actively investing in Asia.
