Farooq Jawaid
(Head of Investment Operations Applications- AMVESCAP)

He is currently Global Head of IT for Investment Operations at Invesco (NYSE: IVZ). Invesco PLC operates as an independent investment management group. The company's products include equity, balanced, fixed income, money market, and real estate investment portfolios. Mr. Jawaid is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for the Information Technology group supporting Investment Operations globally.
 

Mr. Jawaid has IT teams providing service to Investment Operations in several locations around the globe – including United States, Canada, UK, Europe, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Australia. Mr. Jawaid is part of the IT Applications Management Team and plays an important role in strategic planning and execution of the plan. Mr. Jawaid is responsible for the overseeing the development, implementation, and support of all business systems utilized in Investments Operations globally.
Mr. Jawaid began his professional career in 1990 after graduating from University of Houston with a bachelor degree in computer science. Farooq spent first 6 years of his career in Oil &Gas sector building and leading development of variety of applications in the gas marketing division at Apache Corporation (NYSE: APA).


Mr. Jawaid completed his Executive MBA program from Bauer College of Business at University of Houston in May, 2006. Mr. Jawaid graduated with Honors and received dean’s award for academic excellence. Mr. Jawaid was also given an honorary recognition for the Most Outstanding Executive MBA student in his class.


Farooq is married and he and his wife, Sheema, have three children. Farooq enjoys playing golf, tennis, running, traveling and outdoor activities.
