Sami Ahmad

Director, Corporate Development Lyondell Chemical Company

He is Director of Corporate Development for Lyondell Chemical Company, a global Fortune 100 company headquartered in Houston Texas. In this role Mr. Ahmad is responsible for mergers and acquisition activity for the company. Prior to this, Mr. Ahmad was Assistant Treasurer, Corporate Finance. In this position Sami was responsible for executing several billions of dollars of bank and public debt financings for the Company as well as providing advice to senior management on various corporate finance issues. Prior to this position, Mr. Ahmad was Director of Investor Relations for Lyondell. He joined Lyondell in 1998. Prior to Lyondell Sami was with ARCO Chemical Company where he held positions of increasing responsibility in both the finance and commercial areas.

Mr. Ahmad is also very active in his community. He serves on the Board of Academy of Finance-Spring Branch Independent School District, Precinct Chair-Houston Democratic Party, Boy Scouts of America and Islamic Society of Greater Houston.

Mr. Ahmad holds a BS degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago. Mr. Ahmad is married and has two children. He and his family reside in Bunker Hill.
