| Dr. Faiza Khoja completed her Ph.D. from the University of Houston in Strategic Management in 2004 and accepted a tenure-track position at University of Houston-Downtown the same year. Her dissertation thesis was to study the importance and role of intra-firm networks and the substantial benefits reaped by the organization by developing, managing, and maintaining these networks. She is professionally affiliated with the Academy of Management at both the national and regional level and serves as an adhoc reviewer from time to time. |
| Faiza attended, presented, and served as a discussant in several regional and national conferences such as the Western Academy of Management, Academy of International Business, and South-Western Academy of Management. Her most recent presentation was at the Academy of Management Conference in Atlanta, GA (August, 2006) and United Nations Global Compact Forum in Cleveland, OH (October, 2006). Her recent publication is in the Journal of Business and Economic Research. She has an eclectic approach to research as she has studied topics in strategic and relational management, supply chain management, marketing, organization behavior, economics, and microfinance. She primarily teaches the capstone class of business policy besides organization behavior and has previously taught international business. Mode of instruction is both face-to-face and online. In the summer of 2006, she developed an online strategy class. |
| Faiza is currently involved in several service activities both within and outside the University. At the University level, she represents Management, Marketing, and Business Administration (MMBA) department on the Faculty Senate and was the Chair of the Academic Technology Committee. At the College level, she serves on the College of Business Academic Standards Committee and Faculty Search Committee. In addition, she provides voluntary advisory services to students in her community under the banner of I-Star, a program initiated by Aga Khan Education Board to help students prepare for college admissions. Last, but not least, she has started a special needs school by the name of ‘The Network School’. |
