Press Release: FM encourages Pakistani entrepreneurs to invest in Pakistan

Houston: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Saturday that there are enormous economic opportunities in Pakistan and it is the choicest investment destination. Speaking at an elite Pakistani entrepreneurs’ organization OPEN, Houston and Association of Physicians of Pakistani-descent of North America (APPNA), Foreign Minister Qureshi encouraged Pakistanis to invest their surplus capital in businesses in Pakistan where the government has adopted investment friendly policies.

He said that the economy of Pakistan continues to perform well. This is commendable given the political noise in the country and the growing challenges in international economic and financial markets. In general, it has to be underscored that despite domestic and international events, Pakistan’s economic prospects remain strong.

While appreciating the achievements of Pakistani-Americans in the US, Foreign Minster observed that Think tanks and research institutions have decisive role in the US government policy formulation and advised there was also a need to have Pakistani scholars and research fellows in these institutions.

The Mister noted that at present the Pakistani community in US is engaged in limited professions such as medical, engineering, and small and medium enterprises. He felt that there was need to diversify and move to the next niche of economic ladder of the US economy. This can be achieved if our next generation is encouraged to engage in the vast services sector of this economy, Foreign Minister said.

OPEN Houston launches its first ever Job portal in collaboration with the ROZEE

November 3, 2009--Houston-- Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs (OPEN) Houston has launched a job portal in collaboration with ROZEE. The portal aims to assist its members and their associated companies to post their open jobs on the OPEN website for promotion to our membership and users.With an easy-to-use registration process, members can register as employers and then can post the jobs on the OPEN-ROZEE portal (http://open.rozee.pk/). The launch of this portal is a significant step toward achieving OPEN objectives of promoting job creation opportunities in the Pakistani-American business community, as well as interacting with the mainstream community to help promote them amongst the Pakistani American diasporas’ in Houston and across the US.Launched in 2007, OPEN Houston is a voluntary, not-for profit organization dedicated to the promotion of entrepreneurship, mentorship, leadership, job creation and networking amongst the Pakistani-American community.
